I recently discovered my "Life Number" in numerology is the number 8...
This number indicates strength in executive leadership, business and management...based on that, I was going for super-duper-business look ;)
Also, people with a Lifepath 8 tend to either succeed above and beyond, or fail miserably at everything they attempt...we're all-or-nothing types...so since there's no gray area, just black and white, I decided to incorporate that into the outfit.
Can you tell I'm into astrology/numerology? :)

ASOS...the saga conitnues....
I still haven't received my package, so I sent ASOS a customer service email yesterday afternoon. It was 9:30pm in the UK, so I didn't expect a quick response. I got an email this morning saying that they received my email and were going to work on it...nothing so far.
So, I just wanted to keep you guys posted on this, and hopefully I have some news soon.

ASOS, what gives?!
Remember when I told you guys about my first ASOS Curve shopping experience?
Probably not, because it'll be an entire month this week since I ordered from them, and still NOTHING.
Mind you, I DID opt for the free standard shipping, but if you read back, you'll see that it shouldn't have made a difference, because although it was set to take "less than 2 weeks", my birthday would still not have passed, and I'd be able to wear my new clothes then.
Well, my birthday has come and gone. And the clothes have not.
It has been 4 weeks and nothing.
So, uh...ASOS...what gives?!

I shopped AGAIN over the weekend!
I took advantage of the Old Navy 20% off sale and went CRAZY!
Considering that I have purchased 24 items of clothing (NOT including the two things I'm returning) in the 3 weeks I've had this blog up (LOL/eep!) I think now is a safe time to restart my shopping ban...It should be especially easy considering I should still be receiving packages for the next 2 weeks, and then I can focus on all my new clothes and remixing them into what I already own...
Don't you fret, my pets...I will still have PLENTY of sales to post, as always! Just because I can't shop for the next 3 months is no reason to deny you the privelage!

TOLD you I've been shopping too much!

So, yeah. I've been shopping. Again.
I bought myself these 2 pairs of black trousers because, well...I don't have black trousers. Really. I don't. Usually if I wear pants to work, it's either a pair of really dark jeans (though only on Fridays...it's not a rule or anything, it just seems right), or this one pair of green trousers I have, and they're kind of a pea soup green, so there's only so many tops that look right with them.
That's not even the best part, though.
Remember when I first announced the Beth Ditto collection at Evans? And remember how I was lusting after that floral dress? WELL I GOT IT!
LOVE!!!!
And I had a discount code for that saved me £9 (about $15), so I paid £70 (about $112) for all three items, including shipping overseas!
I really hope everything fits, because I've never shopped at Evans before, but I've heard that their return process is a nightmare...wish me luck!

uh oh, guess what I just did!
I SHOPPED! lol
I just had my first online shopping experience at ASOS, a UK based store that sells both straight size clothes and plus size in the form of their brand, ASOS Curve.
I checked out the ASOS Curve clearance section, clicked on the top right corner of the page to change the currency from pounds to dollars, and away I went!
I have a thing lately for career clothes (I guess because I spend most of my time at the office!) so I've been focusing on building my work wardrobe. Check out my finds!
It seems I scooped up the very last dress (sorry!), you know I'm a sucker for dresses and considering I have over 2 dozen in my closet right now, I don't have an LBD! Til now, that is...bua ha ha! Actually, I'm trying not to get my hopes up on this one, because they only had it in a size smaller than what I usually wear, so we'll see how it goes... ($30.33)
This top is a little immodest for work, but as soon as I saw this baby pink tunic, it screamed "BIRTHDAY!" to me...and since my 25th is approaching (fast), I thought, "why not?" ($18.54)
The last item I got was a black pencil skirt, it's a little shorter than I like, but then again I'm shorter than most so maybe that will even it out. I don't have enough skirts in my life, at least not ones that aren't plaid and punk, so this was necessary! ($11.80, a SUPER STEAL!)
The best part is that I selected Standard Delivery, meaning that my package will get here from the UK in less than 2 weeks, so shipping was free. If I had upgraded to ensure my package would arrive in less than a week, it would have only been an extra $12! I'm just in no rush, since my birthday is in 3 weeks ;)

A review of my recent purchase from Kohls.com
Hello, my fellow frugalista fatshionistas! I have returned, and I bring you a review of the items that ended my shopping ban...
This is one of the work tops I purchased. LOVE! The belt is removable so it can be worn with or without it (I like it with, but it's nice to have the option)...it is very light but has that layered look that's always popular in the fall, which is great for me because I live in Miami, FL...meaning that while most of America is feeling the crisp air, seeing the leaves turn colors and enjoying temperatures of 65-70, I'm melting in humid, nasty 93 degree weather until possibly January.
One word: EW. That sums this up to a tee. I hoped it would be just gray fabric and not that weird metallic fabric (I was let down), but mostly it was the fit. The size was right (BTW, my fellow BBW, don't EVER rely on the size of a garment, always check the measurements to make sure a garment will fit, particularly if it's a place you've never shopped at before...though I always keep my measurements in mind while shopping seeing as some places :cough cough Old Navy cough: can vary several inches in the same size depending on the garment)...the problem was the FIT. The material was very clingy but because of the band at the bottom (which was my bad...I HATE tops with banded hems and I didn't realize this was one) it was just snug enough around the hips to make the rest of me look like I was wearing a sparkly garbage bag. This will DEFINITELY be going back, and luckily Kohls accepts in store returns for online purchases (unlike SOME stores...:cough cough Old Navy cough:)
Another great faux-layered top. This one is slightly sheer, so I'm going to have to be mindful about throwing it on over a pirate-print red bra (which I just did LOL). I like the material, it doesn't feel cheap, but it is definitely light enough that I won't regret it in this climate.
Overall, pretty good shopping experience online at Kohls. I might not feel the same if they didn't accept online returns in store, but that extra service redeemed them in my eyes. I'll definitely shop here again, though most likely I'll stay in the Juniors Plus department for a while.
I'll be back with more sales tomorrow, I'm still getting back in the swing of things after my vacation!
