Surprise!

I found out this morning that apparently, out of over 600 blogs written by Latinas, mine was one of 5 nominated for parenting blog of the year! YAY!

Please vote HERE, you only have to do it once (not once a day like a lot of voting sites) and I only have a week to get as much support as possible, so feel free to pass this on! Help us win stuff for Elliot! :)

I'm up against the blog that won my category last year, and the voting is only open for a week, so please vote guys! (I'm told it works best on Internet explorer, and make sure you click FINISHED at the end of the survey or it won't count your votes!)

Would anyone be interested?

I'm going to sell these 2 dresses:

Igigi Valerie Wrap Dress in Navy

This dress originally retailed for $122. I have it in size 26/28 NWT. It is no longer available online. I'm asking for $100 shipped OBO.

Monif C. Naomi Dress

This dress originally retailed for $199. I have it NWT in SZ 2, which translates to 2X/18-20, though at a 24 it fit me perfectly. It is no longer available online. I'm asking $125 shipped OBO.

I'm going to end up posting these on ebay, probably with reserve since I need the extra cash for the Baboosh's arrival ;) but I wanted to give my readers a crack at it first. I'm willing to be somewhat flexible, because I do need the money, just please don't super low-ball me! :)

I'm also planning to post/sell a LOT more clothes, though maybe not as high end as these dresses, so I thought I'd put these out there first...

email me at frugalistafatshionista@yahoo.com if interested in either.

Got it!

Tracked down the official link to my NBC feature (which also recently aired in Texas and is going nationwide) on being an obese soon-to-be mom :) http://bit.ly/iTLvr8

HAES and Pregnancy

Yesterday, there was an article in the local paper about how certain OB/GYNs are turning women past a certain weight/BMI away for treatment because they felt that just their weight was enough to deem them "too high risk for their practice". I wrote a blog post about my feelings towards the article in my personal blog here.

Well, about an hour after I finished that blog post, NBC 6 was in my office, interviewing me for what turned out to be their top story at 11. Surreal, much? I wrote about the experience here.

What do you guys think about this issue?

the big announcement...

So I've mentioned it a couple times before, but there's been a bunch of changes going on at home keeping the blog from going as smoothly as it did in the beginning...I work only 3 days a week, and days I don't work, I don't have access to my computer because my husband has merged his office into my office to empty one of our spare bedrooms, meaning NO ONE has office "space" right now.

Why are we giving up our precious personal space to clear up a bedroom, you may ask?

Because we're GOING TO HAVE A BABY!!!!

I'm 14 weeks today, and we've known since week 5...trust me, it's been HARD to keep this a secret this long!

I'm hoping to continue posting sales as often as I am able to access the internet, as I've been doing...The only difference you might see on this blog is that OOTDs and clothing reviews will probably (most likely LOL) be influenced by the growing Baboosh...

I've been blogging about the pregnancy specifically at my personal blog, and twittering at @PlusSizePreggo, in case you're particularly interested in the experiences of a (VERY) plus sized woman who is pregnant with her first baby.
